December 2018 update

{contact.email_greeting}

Last month the Government announced funding for a wave of new voluntary aided faith schools – that will be up top 100% religiously selective and teach denominational religious education. As a result, we've updated our guide to challenging new faith schools and will be working hard to oppose any school proposals through this programme.

Also in the last month we've highlighted the 33 new faith schools proposed in the latest round of academies, including Cornerstone Free School.

This week we reported on rulings from the schools' adjudicator for England ruling that two state funded Orthodox Jewish faith schools can impose extensive religious codes on the families of applicants despite other failings in their admissions codes.

Thank you to everyone continuing to write to your MP, share the petition, spread the message on social media and let us know about new faith school proposals. If you need resources or a No More Faith Schools speaker for a local group, please let us know.

Sharing your story can be a powerful way to support the campaign, and our website has a variety of ways you can get involved.

Best wishes,

Alastair Lichten
