Ireland takes big step away from religious discrimination

The Accord Coalition: covers Ireland's proposals to stop state funded Catholic primary schools (approximately 90% of state primary schools) from selecting pupils on religious grounds. Comparing the move to the admissions policies of the faith schools in the UK, Chair of the Accord Coalition, the Reverend Stephen Terry, said it "should provide a sobering reminder of how backward faith schools policy in the UK is, and how skewed our public debate has become."
